July 2010 Employees of the Month
Fiscal Department: Rodney Boman, Barbara Dorsey, Mary Hill, Paula Langford, Emily Nekic, Danelle Udovich
As a team, these employees have taken on projects without hesitation and worked them with a high degree of efficiency. Through changes including, but not limited to a new accounting system and the inception of OnBase, the fiscal staff has performed well. They have adapted to the new Yardi Genesis system, and have provided valuable assistance to everyone, whether inside the agency or with landlords and tenants. The efficiency of this group has helped the agency cut costs. They are generous with their input, bringing their own ideas, while remaining open to the suggestions of others. |

April 2010 Brenda Moguel
Although Brenda has only been here a few months, she has made quite an impact on the Homeless Prevention Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP). She is a vital part of a cohesive team and has met the challenge of navigating the HMIS system and making sure all our data is correct. Brenda has worked closely with our partner agencies and the fiscal department to reconcile data on a weekly basis. She has been pro-active and quick to offer and implement creative solutions to problems. The members of the HPRP team knew they were entering new territory for EDEN and they needed to be flexible and ready for anything. Brenda has embraced this and exceeded beyond expectations. |

James takes pride and ownership in South Pointe Commons. He maintains the building and grounds in a professional manner, and has made safety a priority. He has developed good relationships with the tenants, the builders and the retail tenant. He helps the Property Manager in many ways, always offers his help and keeps an eye on the building at all times. James has offered his help at other buildings, and is a valuable member of the Property Management on-call rotation. This is not the first time he has been given this award, which indicates James is a team player. EDEN is grateful for his service. |

February 2010
"Team Edgewood" Vic Chantiny, Nelson Hardiman, Larry Jenkins, Nick Kelling, Brian McCoy & James Ray <NO PHOTO AVAILABLE>
The call from Edgewood Park came in approximately 5:00 a.m. on a dark, cold and snowy Saturday morning. There had been a fire in one of the units and the sprinkler system had flooded several residences in addition to the fire-damaged unit. Although some of the respondents were maintenance techs, custodians, and front desk staff from other EDEN buildings, they all pitched in as if it were their own home. Before the morning was over, tenants had been relocated, and three floors of effected units and hallways were well on their way to being cleaned and restored. This is yet another illustration of the excellent team work at EDEN. Whether called in an emergency, or performing their daily jobs, they never hesitate to respond. |
December 2009 Emily Gandarilla
Emily is a wonderful addition to EDEN. She has demonstrated an ability to comprehend the systems and programs of EDEN. Her interpreting skills make her a valuable asset to the front desk staff, housing programs, property management, our LIHTC buildings and our Spanish-speaking tenants. She has also assisted the Fiscal department with HAP and documentation flow. Emily is a knowledgeable member of the scanning crew, and there is always a smile on her face and a willingness to help wherever she is needed. Her positive attitude and good sense of humor make for a great working relationship with all her co-workers. |

November 2009 "Team South Pointe Commons"
Brandon Whittaker, Matthew Videc, Jon Presti and James Ray (not pictured: Andrew Savoca and Wayne Harris)
For nearly three months during the summer of '09, South Pointe Commons experienced a period of transition; yet the building remained clean, functional, and all clients were well cared for. In addition, the terrific team pulled together in tracking contractors' work on the building. They helped in preparation for the OHFA audit and several building tours. They made sure the building and grounds were safe and secure...all the while keeping it clean and beautiful. This close-knit South Pointe family welcomed Angela Letzner, the new Property Manager, and helped make her transition a breeze. |
October 2009 Stacy Smith
Stacy is a person truly dedicated to her job. The safety and well-being of our tenants is her number one priority. Never is this more evident than when she is on the job after-hours and on weekends following through on tenant issues until she is satisfied all is well. Her time is well-spent, and she is the first to offer help to her fellow staff members when they need it. As our new Property Manager for HUD projects, she has shown a willingness to accept new challenges, and her self-sufficiency is evident in all she takes on. Stacy is firm, yet compassionate with tenants; and has won their respect as a result. We all know we can count on her. |
Sept 2009 Dave Wilson
Dave was part of our team when Emerald Commons opened, and he remains an asset to EDEN’s Permanent Supportive Housing Projects working every day at The Liberty. His efficiency and genuine concern for the tenants make him a natural choice for this award. He works well with our partner agencies; who agree that his professionalism, as well as his respect for and from the tenants and staff, make him a vital member of the Liberty team. His dedication is inspiring. |
August 2009 Jean Cook
Jean continuously goes above & beyond to serve our clients. She often wears her case management hat for her clients in times of crisis. She is a tireless advocate, and thoroughly researches and documents all of her difficult cases. Jean is willing to help and support her co-workers, which includes many little gestures, such as never forgetting a birthday and taking our mail to post office every evening. Jean has been honored with this award in the past; and EDEN is fortunate to have her as part of our team.

July 2009 Marrio Hart

Marrio has shown enthusiastic support for the tenants and staff at Emerald Commons and Northridge Commons. He is a positive presence, and tenants and staff know he is responsible and dependable. |
June 2009 Brian McCoy
When someone has been with EDEN as long as Brian, it’s easy to take his skills, knowledge and professionalism for granted. His work is dependable and his craftsmanship an asset. Brian’s hard work in installing Pergo and tile flooring makes our units look like new, and enhances the quality of life for our tenants. His carpentry skills rival those of any professional carpenter. Brian is always willing to lend a hand, or help lend his expertise to other Property Techs in a bind. |
May 2009 Theresa Castleberry
Since she began with EDEN, Theresa has demonstrated a desire to grow and learn. She doesn’t wait to be asked; when she sees a need, she jumps in to help. Theresa is patient and helpful when dealing with the public. She helps and supports fellow staff members, and she takes her role as team member very seriously. |
April 2009 Bill Puz
Since Bill became Information Technology Specialist last year, he has demonstrated how to be a team player. This was apparent throughout the recent renovation and relocation of offices to the new space. Bill put in extra hours to help during the move, performed his usual duties and managed to catch up on his work with the paperless project. He listens patiently and with good humor; he often drops what he’s doing to respond to an urgent overhead page. Bill does his job so we can all do ours-and he makes it look easy. |
March 2009 Misraim “PoPo” Calderon
The artist in PoPo shows in his methodical technique in the performance of his duties as one of our painters. He isn’t satisfied until he knows his work meets, and sometimes exceeds EDEN’s standards. His fastidious work habits and follow-up reveal his professionalism. When he has completed a job, all that remains is a beautifully-painted unit. PoPo has stepped in to make minor repairs when he can be of service. He shows up to work each day with a smile, a creative energy and a positive attitude. |
February 2009 Rodney Boman
Even though Rodney hasn’t been with EDEN long, he has already established himself to be an asset to the Fiscal Department and to the Agency. He is ready to troubleshoot, provide solutions and improve efficiency in a pro-active manner. His professionalism is evident in his everyday dealings, and in his ideas about saving time and money. Rodney is constantly looking for ways to improve fiscal functions. He is a team player and is readily available to help his fellow staff in an unselfish way. He has a great sense of humor and has been a wonderful addition to our team. |

Employee of the Year 2007 Edna Wisniewski
For her continual, heartfelt dedication to the mission of EDEN; for exceeding normal expectations of her job in ways too numerous to list; for going above and beyond when she thinks no one is noticing; for the compassion she bestows on tenants; for the support and goodwill she gives all who come her way because helping others is not just a priority for her, but a way of life; for her endeavors to better herself, because we can’t imagine EDEN without her, and never want to. For these reasons and many more, the Management Team of EDEN congratulates Edna on receiving the first Employee of the Year Award. |
