“Housing first is an approach to ending homelessness that centers on providing homeless people with housing quickly and then providing services as needed” (National Alliance to End Homelessness). It is a way of meeting people where they are and then helping them to get to where they need to be. EDEN joins many cities around the nation that help people who are
chronically homeless to find permanent housing. After receiving
housing, participants are given the opportunity to participate in a
number of different social services. Housing is not contingent upon
their participation in different services. Clients are bound by
regular lease agreements. |
