Team EDEN
Participates in 2010 Cleveland Corporate Challenge
The purpose of the Cleveland
Corporate Challenge is to create a healthy and recreational event
that builds company pride, morale and camaraderie among employees
and companies. Each company entering the Corporate Cup Division will
be able to pick the charity of their choice to compete for. The top
3 places in each division will have a donation made in their name to
the charity they choose. EDEN is proud to participate this year and
we look forward to many years to come!

A New Year,
Another Permanent Supportive Housing Project!
EDEN is
proud to announce that more than flowers will bloom in the Spring of
2010. It will also welcome construction on our latest Permanent
Supportive Housing (PSH) Project. Presently known as Emerald
Alliance V, we anticipate the building to be complete and ready for
tenants in June of 2011.

This
building will be 70 efficiency units of housing in the Midtown
District of Cleveland, right on Euclid Avenue. As with our other PSH
projects, these units will be for persons who are homeless and have
disabling conditions.
The
local architectural firm of Herman Gibans Fodor has designed the
building and Marous Brothers Construction has been selected as the
General Contractor is. EDEN is again partnering with Cleveland
Housing Network to develop this project through financing from State
of Ohio Low-Income Tax Credits, the Ohio Housing Finance Agency, the
City of Cleveland, and Cuyahoga County Department of Development,
among others. Currently, the Development Team (EDEN, CHN, HGF, and
Marous) are finalizing the design, with a goal of submitting to the
City of Cleveland for a building permit very soon.
Once
opened, EDEN will provide Property Management Services and Mental
Health Services, Inc. will be the lead Social Services provider to
the building.
Please
visit our website over the next few months, where you can watch the
building go up and read about the construction process.
Community
Women’s Shelter Renovation
Over
the last six months, a very concerned team of individuals from EDEN,
Mental Health Services, the Office of Homeless Services, the City of
Cleveland and Cuyahoga County, have been planning a strategy for the
renovation of the two buildings collectively known as the Community
Women’s Shelter.
EDEN is
pleased to announce that this strategy is becoming a reality, and a
plan for this renovation will be revealed soon.
Fogle
Stenzel Architects has presented a design that will connect the two
buildings together while maintaining their historic significance,
make the space more handicapped accessible, upgrade aging building
systems, and provide administrative space to accommodate a new
central intake for homeless women, with offices and private
interview rooms that will assist in the rapid re-housing of
individuals so as to prevent long term shelter stays.
We will
continue to report any new developments on this site and provide
photographs of construction when it occurs.
